On Saturday we went looking for birds near the driveway. We saw yellow finches and blue finches and many other cute birds. There also was a little bird with a red stripe on its belly and a hooked beak. It was amazing. This morning I saw a giant grey bird with a very long neck. It was funny. It was taller than Bridie. I also saw another funny bird I called it a singlet bird (see picture) because it looked like it was wearing a singlet!
Thanks for keeping us up to date on life there. We miss you all and think of you often. We have just been issued with strong wind warnings here in Townsville. We are getting good at the "battening down the hatches just-in-case routine"!!! Love MNB&E xx
ReplyDeleteWe laughed when we read about your naming of the singlet bird. It is brilliant! What did you think of the bird which was taller than you Bridie? Did you get very close to it? Are you recognising many birds who have relatives here in Australia? Maybe some sparrows perhaps? We hope the little singlet bird has some jumper bird friends to hang out with if the weather turns chilly!
